Developing experimental Shared media surfaces with embedded ambient intelligence for two distinct scenarios[edit]

  • for use in a family kitchen
  • for use in a university lab/workshop environment

allowing distinct groups to view relevant group/shared and also individually targeted information in both ambient/passive and active interactions.

information displayed/accessible through the media surfaces may include:

  • Calendar information
  • weather and transport
  • targeted or relevant notices and news
  • relevant decorative content
  • relevant personal content
Within each of the systems attention should be paid to (shared)access to information and levels of relevant privacy; Eg; it may be ok for your family to see all your scheduled holiday plans but if a work colleague calls round perhaps you do 
not want them to see it on your kitchen wall.

Investigation of the communication flow between car and human through all stages of the travel What additional sources are needed to make the communication possible? What are the privacy and ethical issues?
